East Coast Stamping with Mary Louise

 Today's sketch kind of threw me off, I just couldn't see where I wanted to take it.  I thought flowers at first but I currently don't have the "right" flower for this.  Then my mind went to letters and the Alphabest set which then morphed into a slimline card.  Isn't it funny how once you start with something, everything falls into place and then you wonder why you struggled?  Ugh.  So I started with a Basic White cardbase with a layer of Countryside Inn DSP adhered using Stampin' Seal.  I stamped a sentiment on the inside with a strip of dsp for the bottom also.  Spelling out Happy Birthday, then I stamped using Night of Navy ink onto scraps of Misty Moonlight cardstock.  Then I punched them all out and popped them up on the card front along with a simple White bow from the Baker's Twine Essentials Pack.  A sprinkle of Rhinestone Basic Jewels finished off the card and it's so cool!  If you would like to see how I put it all togeth...

Doesn’t this make you want to coasting?  Hello and welcome to my blog for today.  This card was so much fun to make, reminds me of childhood winters.   This sketch caught my eye, but I changed the orientation to create this cool slimline card.  The images are either fussy cut from the Storybook Gnomes dsp or stamped and punched using the  Penguin Place bundle.  Using my blending brush and the Balmy Blue ink pad, I created the sky effect by rubbing lightly over the Basic White cardbase.  On a scrap piece of Basic White, I stamped the “hill” stamp using Memento and then fussy cut.  This will give you the sloped hill look.  Adhere to the cardbase using Stampin Seal.  Next add your images, some using adhesive and others Stampin Dimensionals.  The sentiment is stamped on a small scrap of Balmy Blue cardstock using Memento ink and adhered to the cardfront.  Don’t forget to add some snowflake embellishments!  Basic White cardbase...

 Good Morning,  It is a beautiful, sunny day here in Nova Scotia.  I believe it is the calm before the next two storms being forecasted this week so I will enjoy this for now.  It’s Heritage Day here, which is a statutory holiday, another plus that I will enjoy as I am off.  I have a monthly club group that gets together, each month has a pre determined hostess.  We make a couple of products-usually a new technique or fold showcasing all of the beautiful Stampin’ Up! Products and then everyone makes a purchase.  Win- win!  This is one of the projects we made this month…I broke down and shared a slimline card.  My focus was to share the new slimline envelopes that  Stampin’ Up! now carries.  They are very pretty and have three colours in one package.  Daffodil Afternoon dsp, a level 1 free product from Sale a Bration, paired nicely with Mossy Meadow cardbase, a bit of Crushed Curry tossed in for some contrast topped it all off. ...
