Stampin Up Birthday Memories

I had a day off all by myself with the intent to balance some cleaning and crafting.  There has been a small amount of cleaning up and a whole lot of crafting and I am so happy about that.  Just what I needed right now.  Part of my tidying up was to move soon to be retired items from my working space to allow room for new goodies next week (so exciting but heartbreaking at the same time). As I am packing away bits of dsp, I stop to remanence older packs in my stash and decide to bring it to my table and create!  Birthday Memories, Blushing Bride and Sweet Sugarplum cardstock paired together quite nicely to create this beautiful card.  I can’t take credit for the great fancy fold, that was a Pinterest find but I appreciated the fold to use up bits of any dsp for any occasion.  Hope you enjoy and perhaps take the time to craft something yourself.  Until next time, Mary Louise  East Coast Stamping

Inspire. create. Challenge #106 Colour Challenge

As another week has quickly whizzed be me, I am finally posting my #sketchintuesday project from last week.  With the last minute preparations for a busy Christmas, I somehow lost track of time and posting my card.   I combined this sketch challenge along with a colour challenge from Inspire. Create. Challenge.  The sketch is a random search on Pinterest and the colour challenge included the use of Cinnamon Cider, Crumb Cake and Early Espresso.  I figured it was the last chance to create a Christmas card for this year so I started thinking of dsp colour combinations and immediately thought of the Gingerbread and Peppermint pack.  I fussy cut a few of the bells from the dsp, popped up on a piece of Crumb Cake which was then matted on to the Early Espresso cardbase.   All of those brown hues were not screaming Christmas to me so I decided to add some Real Red to the mix.  I used the reverse side of the bell which added my first dollop of colour.  The striped mask from the Adorning Desig

Christmas Cookie Baking

When I am not in my craft room, I am usually busy with my four year old grandson, Keegan.  We are very fortunate to have him nearby and we get to see him often.  He so enjoys coming for sleepovers, he has his own room and everything.  He might be a tad bit spoiled but he is so worth it.  He has always enjoyed baking with me so we tend to cook or bake quite often.  He also enjoys dinosaurs, as most little boys do.  Today, we made sugar cookies- he helped to dump the ingredients, used the mixer, cut the shapes out and of course he decorated them.  I surprised him with some dinosaur cookie cutters so of course along with the traditional bells, trees and snowflakes we made triceratops.  He is pretty proud of his decorating, because every Christmas platter needs a rainbow triceratop cookie on it.  Could this be the beginning of a new tradition?

Peaceful Place dsp Christmas Card

My latest #sketchintuesday project was a tough one but I really liked how it all came together.  I used a piece of the Peaceful Place dsp, Basic Gray cardstock for base and some Basic White for the insert.  I used the circle, swirly die from the Painted Labels dies in Basic Black high is popped up with Dimensionals.  My new favourite, the Wonderful Snowflakes is placed in the centre of the die and topped with a strip of Basic Gray with the sentiment from the Peaceful Deer stamp set. On the inside, I heat embossed using silver embossing powder, the snowflakes from the same stamp set.  Hope you enjoy, and thanks for stopping by.

I recently held an in person gift card holder class and these are the projects we completed.  All designs are from Pinterest, I just put my spin on them.  I think I have enough now for a few years!!
