#casethecatty with Stampin’ Up!

Image
I recently hosted an online craft and chat with a few crafting friends where we #casedthecatty.  The dimensions and materials were provided and we referenced the project on page 36 in the mini catalogue.  Since each of us are seasoned paper crafts, and a few Stampin’ Up! demos, I expected to see some beautiful cards.  Well, I wasn’t disappointed at all.  Here are the samples we made along with the measurements.   If you haven’t already used this sketch to create, I advise you do.  Aren’t they all beautiful?  Thanks for dropping by,  Mary Louise

Simply Elegant and Tasteful Touches from Stampin Up

Image
Another week and another #sketchintuesday post coming your way today.  This one was a bit tricky, not sure if this is my normal style but it is still pretty none the less.  I was able to do a bit of colouring with my blends to add some depth to the card.  That gorgeous flower is from the Tasteful Touches stamp set, which was coloured using my Night of Navy blends and then added some Balmy Blue for the center.  I did pop this up using my dimensionals.   Simply Elegant is the perfect way to describe the designs in this paper pack.  Two different designs were used to offset each other and then layered onto a cardbase of Basic Gray.  I have a stash of sentiments stamped and die cut on Very Vanilla ready to go when needed which is also popped up with dimensionals. Classic Matte dots have cream coloured embellishments which finished off the rest of this card.  Here, take a look for yourself:  Subtle but effective don’t you think?   Thanks for stopping by, Mary Louise

Book Binding Pop Up card by Stampin Up

Hello my fellow crafters and welcome to my blog.  Today we are featuring a card we made during our recent monthly club party.  Each month we complete a couple of projects which could be a new technique or fold or simply to showcase a new product.   Each of us had different dsp, mine was from Hey Sports Fan.  This is probably my least favourite package of paper in the current mini so I knew I needed to make something to change that feeling.  Well….I must say I love this card.  Mission accomplished.  I paired this with Night of Navy making a regular A2 card,  stamped the Happy Birthday from Penguin Place on Basic White and punched using the Double Oval punch.  The inside uses a 6x6 piece of dsp, so I chose a more subtle, quiet option.  While this looks difficult, it really is just a couple of basic folds and then adhered to the card base.  While this isn’t my design, I did use different elements to make it my own.  It was a fun card to make, can’t wait to find someone to give it to.  Ta

Slimline card with Daffodil Afternoon

Image
Good Morning,  It is a beautiful, sunny day here in Nova Scotia.  I believe it is the calm before the next two storms being forecasted this week so I will enjoy this for now.  It’s Heritage Day here, which is a statutory holiday, another plus that I will enjoy as I am off.  I have a monthly club group that gets together, each month has a pre determined hostess.  We make a couple of products-usually a new technique or fold showcasing all of the beautiful Stampin’ Up! Products and then everyone makes a purchase.  Win- win!  This is one of the projects we made this month…I broke down and shared a slimline card.  My focus was to share the new slimline envelopes that  Stampin’ Up! now carries.  They are very pretty and have three colours in one package.  Daffodil Afternoon dsp, a level 1 free product from Sale a Bration, paired nicely with Mossy Meadow cardbase, a bit of Crushed Curry tossed in for some contrast topped it all off.  The sentiment is from another sale a bration product, the

Sailing Home Sketch Challenge

Can you all believe, yet another stormy day in Nova Scotia?  There is a lot of fluffy snow accumulating out there and I don’t think it is over yet.  I don’t mind winter weather but these big storms every week are starting to get old.    This weeks sketch challenge, provided to me by Barb from Making Cards @ 1 Ink Hill was just so much fun to make.  The sketch was pretty straightforward and it didn’t take me long to decide what I wanted to do.  I picked just the right piece of dsp from the New Horizons paper pack that reminded me of water and sunsets because I wanted to showcase the lighthouse from the Sailing Home stamp set.  After I stamped the bird’s and sentiment (from Special Moments) directly onto the dsp using Memento ink, the lighthouse was stamped onto a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock.  It was  coloured with Night of Navy and Crumb Cake  Stampin blends, then fussy cut and sprinkled with some Wink of Stella and popped up with dimensionals.  It was mounted onto an Old Olive

Picture This dies

Todays projects were so much fun to create,  just can’t wait to share them with their recipients.  The theme for this swap for February was something with a beating heart.  I don’t normally make Valentines so a traditional heart card wasn’t in the books for me.  This left the interpretation wide open.  Since this swap doesn’t include Stampin Up demonstrators exclusively, I am able to dig deep into my retired stash and explore.  I used the Picture This dies and cut out Basic White, Basic Black, Real Red and Cherry Cobbler cardstock.  I stamped up donkeys and frogs from the Darling Donkeys and So Hoppy Together stamp sets which I then coloured using Crumb Cake, Petal Pink and Real Red for the donkeys and Mossy Meadows Stampin blends for the frogs.  The colourful mattes are from the Plaid Tidings dsp paper pack.  The Basic White projects are teamed up with Crumb Cake cardstock and sponged with Crumb Cake ink.   Sentiment from Itty Bitty Birthdays along with a small strip of matching dsp

Pattern Party meets Hello Ladybug

Image
There seems to be so many storm days, busy days at work leading up to the storms and finally life…I am so far behind with posting my cards and I feel terrible about it.  Last weeks sketch challenge from my fellow demo Barb brought me this adorable card featuring the Hello Ladybug stamp set.  Funny little story, I was so excited to order the stamp, waited the two weeks for the order to arrive and when I opened the box there wasn’t any punch in it (in case you didn’t know, it’s a stamp/punch bundle).  Imagine my disappointment! So I used the stamp without the punch and planned to order it next order.  Yah, I forgot to again.  But I don’t mind fussy cutting at all and that’s whatI did and will continue to do so until I remember to finally order it.   So my sketch allowed me to use some of my favourite items from Stampin Up-dsp! Imagine that?  I chose three designs from the Pattern Party hostess pack from annual catalogue using the black and white patterns.  Those were layered onto a Basi

Tailored Tag Punch featuring Country Club dsp

Image
It’s #throwbackthursday!  Don’t you just love the opportunity to create using something from the past?  I know I do.  Todays card is made from retired Country Club dsp, Gray Granite and Basic Black cardstock.  The Tailored Tag punch makes it so easy to use up small pieces of scraps and make beautiful cards.   Itty Bitty Birthdays is the stamp set used today, also one I pulled from the retired shelf.  Add a bit of black twine and you have a quick, very effective card for any occasion.   Thanks for stopping by,  Mary Louise East Coast Stamping with Mary Louise

Blackberry Bliss, New Horizons and Pansy Petals

Image
Another #sketchintuesday project using a sketch from my stamping pal Barb!  This one was perfect for me as it allowed me to use more of my dsp including scraps!  I am one of those people who refuses to throw out even the smallest piece of paper just in case I can use it somewhere.  You never know right?  My favourite Stampin Up colour is Blackberry Bliss and I certainly showed it a lot of ❤️ in this card.  Using the Blackberry Bliss cardstock for the cardbase, I added a piece of dsp from the New Horizons paper pack that had mostly Polished Pink on it.  Then I used some scraps from the Pansy Petals dsp pack and then fussy cut a few Pansies for the main focal point.  I rarely use flowers in my projects, so this was a pleasant surprise for a change.  The circle die in the centre is from the Painted Labels die set and it’s cut from, of course, Blackberry Bliss.  The die cut plus the top Pansy are both popped up using dimensionals, otherwise Stampin Seal was used to put this card together.
