Sailing Home Sketch Challenge
Can you all believe, yet another stormy day in Nova Scotia? There is a lot of fluffy snow accumulating out there and I don’t think it is over yet. I don’t mind winter weather but these big storms every week are starting to get old.
This weeks sketch challenge, provided to me by Barb from Making Cards @ 1 Ink Hill was just so much fun to make. The sketch was pretty straightforward and it didn’t take me long to decide what I wanted to do.
I picked just the right piece of dsp from the New Horizons paper pack that reminded me of water and sunsets because I wanted to showcase the lighthouse from the Sailing Home stamp set. After I stamped the bird’s and sentiment (from Special Moments) directly onto the dsp using Memento ink, the lighthouse was stamped onto a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock. It was coloured with Night of Navy and Crumb Cake Stampin blends, then fussy cut and sprinkled with some Wink of Stella and popped up with dimensionals. It was mounted onto an Old Olive cardbase and the final touches are the Classic Matte Dots and black twine from the Bakers Twine Essentials pack.
I don’t remember the last time I was able to pull together elements so quickly for a sketch and really love the end result. Take a look, tell me if you like it.
This sketch will certainly be used again in the very near future. Stay tuned for upcoming projects! Thanks for dropping by,
Mary Louise
