Snow Wonder Christmas Card

Image
Hellooo and happy Saturday!  It isn’t often I have a full Saturday off and not have plans with either family, Stampin Up or my volunteer role with Girl Guides.  Today, I have been able to get out and dig into my Christmas shopping finally.  Hoping to get back out again tomorrow or Monday to hopefully.  My card this week was fast and fun to create using the random internet search sketch from Barb at making cards at 1 ink hill.  I have used this set many times but not necessarily the tree images.  I chose Evening Evergreen and Soft cardstock for the project.  The trees were stamped using Evening Evergreen onto the Soft Succulent, followed by a set of trees stamped tone on tone with Evening Evergreen, die cut and popped up with dimensionals.  I added some white embossed snowflakes, with the sentiment layers nestled in amongst them.  Those sentiment layers are die cuts also from the Snow Wonder bundle. This card made me feel like I was ...

Blackberry Beauty Sympathy Card

Figured I had better post today since tomorrow will be another #sketchintuesday project.  I really don’t know how time slips away….when I started my blog, I promised myself I would post every other day.  If I had content, I even posted daily.  Since then, my other job has moved from 20 hours a week to almost 40.  I also watch my grandson after school biweekly and if he sees me heading to the craft room, he wants to stamp too.  I swear he has eight arms as fast as he grabs the stamps and starts creating.  How are four year olds so quick?  So now I am down to once a week mostly and feeling like I have abandoned everything.  Hopefully I can get into a better routine and get back on track.   Here is my project and the sketch provided to me.  It is a random search on Pinterest and not necessarily an active challenge from the creators.   My cardbase is Early Espresso, with a layer of gold from the brushed metallic paper (holiday min...

Garden Wishes and Harvest Meadows DSP

Image
Another week has slipped away and I have no idea how that happens, my best laid plans to post earlier are laid to rest.  I have been occupied this week with preparations for my upcoming stamp a stack so will use that as my excuse.  This sketch I tried to stay as close to the original as possible other than using a tree, of course.  I haven’t used this stamp set in a very long time and thought it was the perfect fit.   P Project materials used: Garden wishes bundle Harvest Meadows DSP Crumb Cake Cardstock Basic White cardstock scraps for flower and sentiment Memento ink So saffron and Mossy Meadow Stampin Blends Playing with Patterns Resin dots Thanks for stopping by, Mary Louise  East Coast Stamping with Mary Louise  Independent Stampin’ Up! Harvest Meadow dsp from Stampin Up

Image
I love this simple sketch, a few pieces of dsp and a very pretty image and voila! A beautiful card for any occasion.  I used Misty Moonlight for the card base and again for the square layer which I embossed using the 3D bark embossing folder.  The matte layer plus the other two pieces are from the Harvest Meadow dsp pack found in the holiday mini (soon to expire).  The stamp set featured is from the new mini (due to launch in January).  I coloured it using crumb cake, so saffron, real red and calypso coral Stampin blends.  I finished off the card using some gilded gems embellishments.  Now that you see how few products were used, will you be using this sketch to make cards?  Thanks for stopping by.

Snowflake mask from Adorning Designs Decorative Masks

Image
Where does the time go?  I can’t believe it’s already Sunday, it was just Tuesday.  So #sketchintuesday this week was so much fun.  I veered away from my traditional use of dsp and made a very pretty background piece using one of the Adorning Designs Decorative Masks found in the holiday mini.  Night of Navy matte on a Basic White cardbase helped to make this card bold and full of life.  The snowflake patterned mask was used with the sponge Brayer and White ink.  How simple but what a stunning card.  I finished the card off with the Tailored Tag punch using Night of Navy cardstock and stamped in white again, some Fine Art ribbon and a few gold metallic pearls.  I used sentiments from Holly Jolly Wishes ( on the inside) and Banner Year.  Thanks Barb for yet another fun sketch.  Thanks for stopping by.

Sweet symmetry and Biggest Wish from Stampin Up

Image
I totally cased this card from Pinterest, it was the perfect project for my club gals to show both the pretty dsp  Sweet Symmetry and the stamp set, Biggest Wish.   We used the stamparatus to stamp the sentiments perfectly,  a tool that I rarely think to use even though I really should.  Just Jade and Bumblebee were the main players for this card, some white Bakers Twine and finished off with some embellishments.  We completed this card in no time which left lots of time for chatter and fun.

Gather Together #throwbackthursday

Image
I almost forgot about my #throwbackthursday card, good thing I stayed up a bit late and remembered.  This is an idea I found on Pinterest that I used for a recent swap that was die cuts or punch themed.  I thought it was perfect for this time of year with all the pretty colours.  I used the now retired, Gather Together stamp and dies bundle with the birch embossing folder.  Pumpkin Pie, and Cajun Craze really added to the beauty of it.  While I love using all of our current products, it is fun to dig into the archives and play with oldies but goodies.  Come back next Thursday to see what I have made.
