Jennifer’s Mystery Pieces

 Hi folks,

Another bright and beautiful day here in the Annapolis Valley.  The sun is shining, a light breeze blowing and I can hear the birds chirping, life is good!

My down line organizes a monthly swap with several of my sidelines, up line, etc with different themes each month.  All supplies must be current and Stampin Up of course, and then we can all share the projects on our various social media platforms.

The past few months, we have been enjoying “mystery challenges” where each recipient receives and creates a project with the pieces we’ve been sent.  Sometimes it is a word that has been die cut and perhaps a piece of ribbon or a small piece of dsp and some bling.  It is a lot of fun because we are so very diverse and the projects vary so much.

Today, I am featuring Jennifer Curran’s piece which is a die cut from the flowering vine die in Fresh Freesia.  To be honest, I had to go looking through the catalogues to find this die as I didn’t realize it existed.  With a Blackberry Bliss card base, I knew I had to get messy with some inks to help showcase this beautiful element.  Rich Razzleberry and Blackberry Bliss were the inks of choice and were quickly spread around my piece of whisper white by way of my blending brushes.  I didn’t want them too dark, but just enough to take the starkness of the White away.  I wrapped a small piece of White bakers twine around the coloured piece and popped it all up with dimensionals.  The sentiment I used was from the Many Messages stamp set and I brushed a bit of Rich Razzleberry on that as well. The inside piece had a bit of blending as well, and then was stamped with a sentiment from Flowers of Friendship.  I topped it all off with a few gems from the Silver and Clear Expoxy Essentials.  I quite enjoyed how the simplicity of one die cut piece could lead into such a colourful card.
