Biggest Wish Masculin Card

 Hi folks,

Here we are, another beautiful, sunny day in Aylesford, Nova Scotia.  Spring is just around the corner, I think a lot of people are looking forward to a change of season.

This particular sketch was very interesting in design and really had me thinking.  I think my friend Barb, from Making Card at 1 Ink Hill likes to find detailed sketches for me to try and decipher.  It is lots of fun to interpret each sketch but still be able to identify the original design.

Some people really struggle with masculine cards but this could be easily used as one.

For the card base and bottom square layers I used Basic Black.  The perfect piece of designer series paper was found in the Abstract Beauty dsp pack and used as the next layer.  Gray Granite cardstock embossed using the Hive 3D folder (first time using it!) added an extra layer and element to this card.  It was also used for the layer stamped with the Happy Birthday sentiment from Biggest Wish.  Once it was stamped, I cut the square into four smaller squares and then mounted onto the previously cute Basic Black layers.  These were stamped using Gray Granite ink first for tone on tone effect, then Memento ink on top for a layered look.  These were popped up using dimensionals being the main focal point of the project.  If you look, you can see some Classic Matte Dots amongst the flecks of fabulous colour.  Take a look here,

Thanks for stopping by,

Mary Louise
