Bloom Where You Grow sketch challenge

I hope everyone had or is having a great weekend spending time with family or friends and doing something special.  Our daughter from New Brunswick came home, we haven’t seen her since Christmas so was a wonderful visit, and our local daughter and family were able to drop by too. Because of everyone’s work and social commitments, we had our family gathering on Good Friday.  Kids of all ages enjoyed our Easter Egg hunt and then a meal with all of their favourite foods.

This weeks sketch had me a bit baffled, I had to roll around a few ideas before something stuck.  For the center image, I could see a plant as the circle and square from the sketch so I immediately pulled out my Bloom Where You Grow dsp and started fussy cutting.  It impressed me so much, that most of the rest of the card is using that same pack of dsp.  Let’s take a look….

I used a Cinnamon Cider cardbase, cut at 51/2 x 81/2 scored @ 4 1/4.  The matte is Evening Evergreen, cut at 4 x 5 1/4.  Next came a sheet of the dsp with all of those lovely leaves was cut to 3 3/4 x 5 then cut diagonally.  So far, these are just layered on top of each other and adhered using tear and tape.  Next I chose the brick look dsp, cut it to 1 1/2 x 4 1/2 and adhered to the front slightly off center.  After fussy cutting a plant and pot I thought looked nice, I popped them up with dimensionals and added a bow using the Black bakers twine from the Bakers Twine Essentials Pack with a mini glue dot. From all of us from Banner Year stamp set was stamped in Evening Evergreen on a piece of the dsp then cut apart and popped up using dimensionals.  Lastly, I added three Matte Black dots to the corner.  Now since I like a finished inside, I added a strip of dsp to the bottom of the Basic White insert and added another fussy cut plant with pot.
I can’t wait to give this card to someone special, it was so much fun.
