Seaside Seashells #sketchintuesday

Another week, I know.  Old story.

But todays story is from under the sea…that’s right! I used Seaside Seashells bundle…say that 5 times fast.  I haven’t used this bundle in forever, felt it was time for it to re surface.  So very thankful that all components used to make this card are carrying over with the new catalogue.  Yay!  Another year to enjoy all of its beauty and versatility.

Thanks to Barb from Making Cards @1ink Hill for providing me with a random internet search for a sketch for me.  She takes great pleasure in selecting images that have multiple components.  That’s okay, we got this!

I look forward to each Tuesday evening so I can craft with you, love all of the interaction from each of you as well.

Okay, enough babbling, here is the sketch and the finished product:

I used a sponge dauber with Coastal Cabana ink and added some light colour to the raised images on the embossed piece of Basic White.  This is the layer added to the front of the Bermuda Bay cardbase.  Then I cut out some pieces for the centre focal point using the coordinating dies, plus a few I fussy cut.  Pear Pizzazz for the grasses, Daffodil Delight for the starfish, Calypso Coral for the clam and Crumb Cake for the seashell.  The Sand dollar is Crumb Cake once stamped off for a lighter image, then added sentiment using Memento ink.  The sand dollar has dimensionals and one of the starfish is raised a bit using a glue dot. I “washed” the front with Wink of Stella by lightly running the brush over all of the raised parts and die cut elements.   Since I like a finished inside, I also stamped some of the same seashells on the insert in the bottom, right hand corner.
