Very Versailles from Stampin’ Up!

Hey everyone, it is a beautiful weekend here in Aylesford, Nova Scotia and I have had the weekend off to enjoy it.  One day I am wearing a hoodie and sandals and the next day is hoodie and a toque.  Oh well, the sun is shining so I  will take it.

I can’t believe the amount of birds we still have coming around, so many different varieties too.  I especially love the cardinals with their bright colours and beautiful song.

My tulips are almost in bloom as are my daffodils.  It won’t be long now to enjoy all of springs pops of colour.

My project for this weeks sketch challenge reminds me of spring with the strong burst of colours.

My sketch had a few elements to it, but I was happy to oblige.  Thanks to my friend Barb for sending me another great random sketch.  Take a look at what I did,

J

I used a Soft Succulent cardbase and added a layer of New Horizon dsp with a Pale Papaya ribbon knot tied off to the side.  Using the largest of the scallop rectangle die from the Stitch So Sweetly die set, I cut a piece of Soft Succulent cardstock, stamped the verse from Very Versailles on it, then stamped the vines from the same stamp set all using Soft Succulent ink.  This piece was popped up using Stampin Dimensionals.  The have a beautiful day was stamped from the same stamp set also using Soft Succulent ink.  The finishing touches are compliments of the Basic Pearls.  Since I enjoy a finished insert, my layer of Basic White was stamped using the vines in Soft Succulent as well.
Such pretty colours, don’t you agree? So sad that the Very Versailles stamp set is retiring next month, as are the Stitched So Sweetly dies.  I will need to start searching the new catalogue for my next favourites.
Thanks for dropping by
Mary Louise
