Stampin’ Up! Black & White Slimline Card

 Good day everyone,

Todays project is a slimline card using some soon to be retired dsp from the January - June 2022 mini catalogue.  I haven’t made a slimline in quite awhile, so thought it was time.  Let’s take a look at what I made and the materials too.

Cardbase: Basic Black cardstock cut at 7x8 1/2, strip for center
Basic White cut at 3 3/8 x 8 3/8 (2), scrap for daisies
Abstract Beauty DSP 3 1/4 x 6 cut on diagonal, corner to corner, strip for inside
Daffodil delight and Memento ink pads
Friends are like seashells and Hello ladybug stamp sets
Versamark, white embossing powder and Heat tool
Pearl basic jewels
Blending brush
Dimensionals
Bone folder

I folded the cardbase in half and creased with bone folder.  I adhered the two pieces of dsp to white layer and then added that to the cardbase.  Then I heat embossed the sentiment onto the black strip and added to the center of the card.  For the insert, I stamped my sentiment using Memento, then added a few daisies on one side using the Daffodil delight ink.  On the opposite side, I placed a strip of dsp using tear and tape then added the entire piece to the inside of my card.  Two daisies were stamped using Daffodil delight on to basic white scraps and fussy cut.  I have been told that the daisy punch fits this stamp also.  I didn’t care for the stark white flower centres and none of my embellishments were large enough to cover it so I used a blending brush to colour in the center a bit.  Then I added a Pearl basic jewel to the flower center and a few more to the card front also.  Did you know we sold slimline envelopes?  I have mine all ready so I can pop in the mail when needed.
I didn’t give dimensions for the center black strip, I just placed the dsp on the basic white layer and made a template on scrap paper first and then cut out the black card stock.
This was a fun card to make, can’t wait for my next one.
If you want to see how I put it all together, here is my link to you tube.
