Stampin UP Poinsettia Place Christmas Card
#throwbackthursday post!! I'm not a huge flower lover but I do enjoy Poinsettia's and couldn't wait to dig into my retired stash to create this card. The sketch I used has been in my stash almost as long as the dsp was and it was perfect to show off all of the pretty colours in the paper. Since I needed to make multiples for my swap, I had enough Bumblebee cardstock left to make most of my cards, one I had to switch up to greens.
Fussy cutting is something I don't mind doing and these flowers were perfect to cut up. Using partial images in this way is great to use up all the dsp-no waste!
The Bumblebee layer was embossed using the Old World Paper 3d embossing folder, then adhered to the Soft Suede cardbase. Two strips of coordinating dsp were flagged on the bottom and layered next using Stampin Seal. The sentiment, stamped using Memento onto Basic White was from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set and then popped onto a Bumblebee base. Layering Circle Dies were used for all three of the circles, Basic White for sentiment, Bumblebee and then Soft Suede. The fussy cut flower was adhered to the Soft Suede circle and then the smaller circles on top or beside depending on the flower used. These were popped up with dimensionals and then various embellishments were used-it was basically use what I had in my stash that matched. I love how it came together and how well all of the colours and dsp designs coordinate.
