Stampin' Up Heron Habitat Birthday Card
Good day! Hope you are having a great day and are enjoying crafting of some type today.
Crafting with a friend is always lots of fun, even if you are half a Country apart. Thanks to modern technology, we can enjoy each other feeling like we are in the same room. Andrea created a wonky lined sketch and this is my version.
I recently ordered the Heron Habitat, not something I would normally reach for but I had seen so many lovely cards made using it so thought I would give it a go. The Soft Succulent cardbase and coordinating Texture Chic DSP made this card so beautiful. I made the "wonky" lines with the Basic Border Dies and layered the dsp adhering with Stampin' Seal. Stylish Shapes Dies provided the circle from Basic White where I first used my blending brush and a little Pool Party ink. The look I was trying to achieve was a bit of water/sky background before stamping the Heron in Memento and the grasses stamp in Soft Succulent. This circle was then popped up using Stampin' Dimensionals on the card front. A few Elegant Faceted Gems offered a bit of contrast to the DSP.
Materials and Measurements:
Soft Succulent cardbase 5 1/2 x 8 1/2
Basic White cardstock 4 x 5 1/4 (insert)
Texture Chic Designer Series Paper 3 x 5 1/2, 2 1/2 x 5 1/2 (I used 2 coordinating designs)
Heron Habitat, Peaceful Moments (insert) stamp sets
Stylish Shapes Dies, Basic Border Dies
Die Cutting Machine
Memento, Pool Party, Soft Succulent ink pads
Elegant Faceted Gems
Stampin' Seal, Stampin' Dimensionals
Let me know what you think. I am quite pleased with it, actually.
Thanks for stopping by,
Mary Louise
