Stampin' Up! Splendid Autumn Sympathy Card

Today's card was inspired by a sketch seen on facebook from an American Demonstrator.  I was intrigued by the cool way to use some of our beautiful designer series paper and the best part is, you don't need a huge piece!
I am attending a Stampin' Up! event this weekend and we were asked to bring a few projects to share and this is one of my projects.
Fall isn't officially here yet, but once school starts up and the leaves start to fall off the trees, it's pretty close.  The Splendid Autumn designer series paper is gorgeous, the beautiful rich colours are simply stunning.  
The cardbase and matte layer are Wild Wheat and the cardstock that the dsp is mounted on is Crushed Curry.  Simply cut the pieces and adhere together and then adhere to the card front.  I stamped using Memento onto a strip of Basic White cardstock which was then mounted on to another piece of Crushed Curry.  This was then popped up using Stampin' Dimensionals after the length of 2023-2025 In Color Jute Trim was placed.  Note: I separated the trim and only used one strand.  Brushed Brass Butterflies and a few of the Rhinestone Basic Jewels were added for interest.  For the inside, I adhered a small strip of the dsp across the bottom of the Basic White insert and then adhered to the card.
I know I say this over and over and possibly over again!  Once you find a great sketch, you can use it for so many occasions based on the colours and designs of paper you choose. 


Materials and Measurements:
Wild Wheat cardbase 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, matte layer 4 x5 1/4
Crushed Curry cardstock 1 1/8 x 2 1/2 (4); 1 1/8 x 2 5/8 (basically the size of my sentiment)
Basic White cardstock 3 x 3 1/4; 1 x 2 1/4
Splendid Autumn dsp 1 x 2 3/8 (4); 3/4 x 3 1/4
2023-2025 In Color Jute Trim
Brushed Brass Butterflies
Heartfelt Hexagon Stamp set
Rhinestone Basic Jewels
Stampin Dimensionals, Tombow Glue

 Good Day Everyone!  I thought this card layout was very interesting.  While it does seem to be a fairly simple card to create, if you try to mass produce or swap out dsp, you can get a bit lost in the cuts.  Please don't shy away from this though, it really is a creative way to mix and match your dsp.  If you don't have dsp, you could easily make your own and then cut.  I watched a video on you tube from another demonstrator to make sure I did the cuts correctly.  In the end, it isn't about measuring at all, but making sure the stack you use are always lined up. Using three different pieces of dsp that measure 4 x 5 1/4, stack them all on top of each other.  Remember, however you have them stacked will be the layout when you swap them out.  Now you can create three different cards all from these pieces and simply shuffling them between the three card bases. Colouring Beautifully Penned DSP

  Today, I felt like colouring so I found some dsp to colour along with my Stampin Blends and here it is.  The Beautifully Penned dsp was the perfect choice to satisfy my colouring urge.  Do you find colouring is a stress reliever?  Here are the measurements and step by step instructions.  I created this live on facebook today, take a peek over on my page. Stampin' Up! Color & Contour Sympathy Card

 Hello folks!  It's me, Mary Louise from East Coast Stamping with Mary Louise bringing you another project from my #sketchingtuesday's live recently.  Even though these colours are a bit bright, I think they are still appropriate for a sympathy card.  They blend well together and offer some light during an otherwise sad time.  It seems as soon as I make a few of these cards for my stash, there are being pulled, signed and mailed lately.   A piece of Basic White cardstock was cut using the Color & Contour dies as the first layer onto the cardbase.  Next was a layer of the Stargazing DSP which was adhered also using Stampin' Seal with a final layer of Basic White which I stamped images and a sentiment onto.  The beautiful flowers were stamped onto scrap Basic White, fussy cut and then popped up using dimensionals being sure to line up with the stamped leaves.  This stamp set is a two step-so I started with the outline and used Berry Burst, then I used the full flower stam
